Who we are

About STEI

Senior Technology Empowerment Initiative (STEI) is a nonprofit organization based in Woodson Terrace, Missouri, dedicated to empowering older adults through patient, accessible technology education.

Our Story & Vision

Senior Technology Empowerment Initiative (STEI) was founded on a simple but powerful belief: no senior should feel left behind because technology has changed too quickly. Our goal is to help older adults confidently use the technology that connects them to family, healthcare, financial services, education, employment resources, government services, and their communities.

We envision a community where STEI creates a welcoming, patient, and supportive learning environment — a place where older adults can ask questions without embarrassment, learn at their own pace, and develop practical technology skills that improve their independence and quality of life.

STEI serves the Woodson Terrace, Missouri community and surrounding areas through structured four-week courses, individual technology assistance, and free community calendar events. Our programs are delivered by trained Technology Facilitators and community volunteers who are passionate about helping older adults thrive in the digital age.
